Your everyday, friendly neighborhood Gmail, that you use everyday just got a fresh new design.

And it is hella pretty.

It comes with tons of new features such as snoozing, nudging, hover actions, a confidential mode and a brand new sidebar — it’s kinda like a mobile app on the web!

In this guide, I’ll show you how you can switch to the new Gmail design in less than 10 seconds of your time.

How to Switch to the New Gmail Design: 3 Steps

Step 1:  Jump into your Gmail account.

Step 2:  Now do you see a little Settings cog icon which is on your top right hand side corner (it’s under your Google profile pic)? Great! Just tap on the Settings cog icon.

Step 3:  Finally, all you have to do is just tap on Try the new Gmail to switch to the new Gmail design.

But wait, I don’t see “Try the new Gmail” option in my Gmail?

If you don’t see Try the new Gmail option, then it’s probably not up yet in your location.

Google does mention that the button will roll out in the coming days.

However, if  you use Gmail for your job, you’ll have to wait for your workplace admin to turn on the option for your company’s G Suite, so it’s time to go bug your IT department if you need that redesign. 😛

I don’t like the new design. It’s too complicated for me. How do I switch back?

Not everyone is going to like it, or maybe you might need more time to wait it out until the new design becomes mainstream. Then fear not, you can switch back and it’s just as simple as how you enable it.

All you have to do is just tap on the Settings cog (the one on your top right hand corner) then tap on Go back to classic Gmail.

Voila! You’re back in your old Gmail design that you’re comfortable with.

That’s it!
